Local Graffiti Standards

Neighborhood Graffiti Standards
are low...

No much has been tagged around here lately...
I was surprised to find a tag on the back of my local Safeway when I got back from Spring Break.
I looked a little like this:
I was thoroughly not impressed.
Come on now... Let's put in a little effort please.
I was tempted to just get off the bus and fix it for them.

I'm working on a new one right now. Mixed spray paint and acrylic.
It will be up later today or tomorrow.

G-mail.

So I definitely spelled "Asphalt" wrong on my G-mail. I spelled it A-s-p-h-a-u-l-t.
Whoops!

Picure Time Line: Sophomore Year

Part Three

New school, new direction, new art.

So here we are. This year. Probably my biggest art year yet.
I am in a new school this year (private school) and the first half of my sohpomore year I tried really hard to be clean cut and to get good grades, so I abandoned my graffiti. But then one day I came up with this:

Kz Royalty. I am pleased to say that this was the product of an especially boring Religion class.
This tag was supposed to be anonymous, and I tried really hard for a while to make sure no one would know Kz was me. But I'm no good at keeping secrets, and since I don't tag walls (except my closet) there really was no point.

This is another Kz Royalty. With color! =D
This is the start of my fetish with the little splatter and drip things.

Oh look, more splatter! =D this is the first one where I drew "Girl w/ Bandanna"
My biff said that her eyebrow is backwards, but I like it that way.
Notice the Kz isn't the normal bubbly letters.

For some reason the yellow arrow turned out horrid, and "Girl w/ Bandanna" doesn't look as good. I'm very hard on myself.

Canvas! I didn't like what was on this canvas, so I painted over it. Then I was mad, so I broke a Pussycat Dolls CD into pieces. (breaking CDs is harder than it seems it might be) The second CD wouldn't break, so I painted it pink (The next best thing right?) and left it to dry. But the newspaper stuck to it when I picked it up, it looked cool so I glued it on and BAM. One of my favorite pieces.

Here's another canvas. I discovered a really nice thing: Flat canvases! They're really easy to store and I love them. Anyways... This sis done with acrylic (The black) and spray paint (The blue and gold). This time I made a stencil out of plastic for the Kz.

Blackbook #2!!!!! That reminds me I have to show you the collage I made on the front of it. It's bomb. Unfortunately, this one got watter spilled on it, so it died.
This one is bamboo! I like it.
"Don't color in the lines"
I LOVE the design in the letters for this. The multi-colored blocks in the background could use some work. Sticker material? Maybe. Does anyone know where you can get good stickers?

The end! I will keep updating whenever I make something new!

Picture Time Line: The Canvas Year

Part Two: The Canvas Year
a continuation of my art saga

These two are from my blackbook (which is actually brown) I was really inspired by song lyrics, like Death Cab for Cutie's "Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole" -Marching Bands of Manhattan iTortion! This is my second canvas. (I don't have a picture of the first, sorry!) It's making fun of the whole Itunes and Ipod thing. Third canvas! I did this one on the last day of 8th grade. I was grounded for the first month of summer. It pretty much sucked. I take my anger out on the canvas. Fourth Canvas. I painted this one after being interrogated by the police about someone who put a smoke bomb in a garbage can at lunch. Observe the column of smoke.

Picture Time Line: Early Graffiti/ Europe

Pictures!
are up

Part One: Early Graffiti/ European Influence
You've heart the story. Now you can see it!

This right here is my first tag ever. "PRSKI" soon to be "PRTSKI". I got the name from pirate with the vowels taken out, and somewhere on the internet it said that a common graffiti writer suffix is 'SKI', so there you go. (I was in 8th grade and everything I knew was from Urban Dictionary and Wikipedia, give me a break.)

iTortion!
This is one of my favorites. I came up with it on my trip to Europe.
It was kind of making fun of the whole Itunes and Ipods thing.
Later, I painted it. (See below)

Three

Top... This one I drew in Prague . (I think)
I remember seeing a lot of "top" tags around one of the cities I was in.
Let's see if I can find a picture...

Oh look, three!

Moving On...

So "DAS!" was also inspired by another artist in Europe.
Here's my pic:

I like the car, personally. Very classy.

At this point I was home from Europe, and I forgot about graffiti for most of my freshman year. Here ends the Early/European graffiti age.

Two: About me.

So here's a little about where I got started in my career as an artist:

I've been doodling all my life, but got inspired to be a graffiti artist on a trip to Prague. (Which has a really bad graffiti problem) I brought a sketch book and a camera with me on my 10 day tour of Middle/Eastern Europe and by the time I got home the book was FULL of graffiti and I had more pictures of graffiti on my camera than cathedrals and monuments. In the next couple of years my parents had banned me from writing on the walls of my room, so I filled the inside of my closet instead. My first mural I made on a 48x36 canvas. Since then I've done numerous canvas murals and have filled 3 sketchbooks. I'm still going strong! and I decided to create this blog to get my art out there.

Feedback is good, so tell me what you think!
